About Tabula Rasa Pilates:

In Latin, Tabula Rasa means "blank slate" - this is your chance to create your own health and wellness journey…to write your own story.

Our studio strives to provide the opportunity for you to change the course and direction your life might be headed. Whether you want to put an end to chronic back pain, strengthen your core, tighten and tone your whole body, gain flexibility, or improve balance, mobility and posture, our Pilates studio and instructors offer a variety of services to meet your individualized needs. Our mission is to help you achieve your unique fitness and wellness goals, including but not limited to better physical and mental health, increased longevity, decreased aches and pains, and ideally, better self awareness, self confidence, happiness, and sense of community.

The Nipomo studio is equipped with an abundance of classical Pilates equipment including six Reformers, six convertible towers/Cadillac, six Wunda Chairs, Spine Correctors and more! We opened our doors in 2021 and through word of mouth, have fostered a true family - over 100 members who commit to their health and well being by attending 3…sometimes 7 times a week here at the studio! The best part is that classes are always intimate - no more than 6 people maximum, which allows the instructor to monitor correct form and safety while still providing individualized modifications within in a class setting.

We offer 35 minute and 50 minute Private (1:1) sessions for folks new to pilates, those wanting to rehabilitate their body after an injury, or those who want to achieve a specific goal and prefer to begin their practice with individualized attention. A number of members maintain 1-2 private sessions a week to compliment 1-2 classes a week, while others have chosen the path of 2-3 private sessions weekly to overcome a health set-back, regain strength, endurance, balance and confidence. For those who are not ready for classes but want to experience the joy of Pilates with a partner, we offer Semi-private sessions. (Privates and Semi-Privates occur when classes are not in session; please contact Tabula Rasa Pilates to schedule your first Intro session, as space is limited.)

Pilates Classes are a popular option and fill up fast! Classes are capped at a maximum of six individuals. We currently offer the following 45-minute and 50-minute classes: Classical and Contemporary Reformer, Mixed Apparatus, Restorative Flow, CORE Pilates, Mat & Tower and Youth Pilates (per request). Based on early morning demand, we offer 30-minute P-HIIT (Pilates High Intensity Interval Training) and WUNDAful Chair! classes. We would love to hear what you’re looking for and are happy to adjust the schedule to meet your specific requests.

If you are new to Pilates, and unsure where to begin, our Introductory Offers (refer to RATES page) are a great place to start. The FAQ section goes into greater detail about package vs. memberships, but feel free to contact us to discuss the best option for you as everyone’s situation is unique. Please note that each exercise can be modified to be more or less challenging, to suit individual preference and to provide your body what it needs that particular day. You do not need to be flexible, nor do you need to be strong to take a pilates class, yet with each session, you will slowly begin to feel both.
